- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt. Pour in the warm water and olive oil, stirring until a shaggy dough comes together.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 6 to 8 minutes until the texture is smooth and springs back when pressed.
- Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm spot for 45 to 60 minutes until doubled in volume.
- Set the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Gently punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal portions. Roll each piece into a 7 to 8-inch rope and arrange them on the prepared baking sheet with space between each.
- Cover the shaped breadsticks loosely and allow them to rest for 15 minutes until slightly puffed.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the tops are golden brown and the breadsticks sound hollow when tapped.
- While the breadsticks bake, stir together the melted butter, minced garlic, dried parsley, garlic powder, and salt in a small bowl.
- As soon as the breadsticks come out of the oven, generously brush each one with the garlic butter mixture. Serve warm.
